How to Add Text to Photos Online for Free (56+ Fonts)
Adding text to photos is one of the most common design tasks — for social media captions, memes, quotes, announcements, or marketing graphics. With ClearUtil's free image editor, you can add text to any photo with over 56 fonts and 20 pre-designed text styles.
1 Upload Your Photo
Open the ClearUtil Image Editor. You can either:
- Select a canvas size first, then upload a photo via the Image tab
- Choose "From Files" in the canvas size modal to start directly from your photo
- Take a photo with your webcam or phone camera
- Paste an image from your clipboard (Ctrl+V)
Lock the photo as a background so you can work on top of it without accidentally moving it.
2 Add Your Text
Click Text in the left toolbar. You have three options:
- Heading — large, bold text for titles
- Subheading — medium text for subtitles
- Body text — smaller text for descriptions
Click any option and a text box appears on the canvas. Double-click it to edit the text.
3 Choose a Font
